NCP-Poland was established in 1999 at the Institute of Fundamental Technological Research PAS. IFTR has his own experience in about 40 research projects carried out in FP4 and FP5. NCP-Poland  consists of all NCPs to 6FP. It coordinates the broad Polish network uniting:

• 16  Regional Contact Points located in major regions of Poland
• up to 200 Thematic and Local Contact Points located at universities, companies and organisations

Each one of the Regional or Thematic Contact Points develops direct contacts with people working in different research institutions as well as SMEs and large industry.

NCP is responsible for:

• info-days
• trainings, seminars and workshops
• providing people with advising and assistance in the preparation of their participation in FP5 and FP6
• developing a Partner Search service.

NCP QoL (FP5) continued as NCP Life Sciences and Food Quality and Safety (FP6) has been taking part in FP5 projects: Train-Net, Partners for Life, Fellows for Industry.

Description of staff involved in the project

NCP - Poland staff consists of highly qualified people with scientific background and the experience in European Programmes (PHARE or INCO-COPERNICUS). There is also an experience in dealing with SMEs, in particular in technology transfer, gained by working in the FEMIRC network.

Generally in NCP-Poland 64% of staff are women. Specifically in Life Sciences and Food Quality and Safety unit – 100%.
